Happy Thanksgiving

A personal note during the season of thanks

Leaves are rapidly turning colour, sweaters are re-appearing and pumpkin spice season is well upon us. In Calgary we know that it takes one strong wind and the beautiful fall colour landscape is off the trees and on the ground. Soon to be replaced by the white stuff!

Mitch Peters Tayden Dental Consulting CalgaryBefore that happens, many of us enjoy the Thanksgiving Day long weekend. A time for friends, family and delicious food. Most importantly though, it is a time to give thanks. Regardless of one’s situation, I believe we can all be thankful for something in our lives. Not only is it a nice thing to do, but giving thanks and feeling gratitude has been proven scientifically to move us closer to our goals.

With Thanksgiving Day approaching soon I decided to share a personal gratitude list. Whether big or small, each item on this list felt worthy of recognition for how they make my life better. I invite you to create a list for yourself. You don’t need to share it with anyone, unless you choose to. The real power is in expressing it for yourself.

Thank you for allowing me to share my gratitude list with all of you.

I am grateful for…

  • My family. My two grown daughters and my husband have been a constant source of love and support while I’ve dedicated my time to my business. They appreciate how much this business means to me and they have never made me feel guilty for the time I spend.
  • My business and my clients. I am so honoured to be working in dentistry with an amazing group of clients. I keep my client base small so that each of my clients can receive the service they deserve. I am humbled to have nearly 35 years of dental experience behind me and hope to continue serving the dental community for years to come.
  • My colleague and friend, Chantelle. Many of you have worked with Chantelle and have experienced her vast knowledge, her unmatched experience and her calm demeanour. I was blessed to meet Chantelle 10 years ago and I am excited for what we can create together in the next 10 years together.
  • Living in Balance Seminars. I learned early in building this business that it takes a village! Entrepreneurship can be a lonely road to travel on. I am so grateful to have met the amazing Living In Balance Seminars team early on. Without them I would not be sitting here writing this blog. If you are struggling with balancing it all, I encourage you to reach out to me to learn more about this amazing program. libseminars.com
  • My behind-the-scenes team. Without the assistance of Viola and the team at Effortless Marketing I would not have a website to add a blog too! Beyond the amazing work they do and the results I receive, I am so grateful for Viola herself. She is such an easy person to talk to and doesn’t make me feel bad for working too much in my business and not enough on it!
  • Pumpkin spice. Yeah, I went there. I do truly love the flavour of pumpkin spice and will allow myself the indulgence in October. It’s also my birthday month so it makes sense to me! There’s something about the flavour that reminds me that no matter how tough the day is, there is a comforting treat waiting for me if I choose to indulge. Cheers to all things Pumpkin!
